Homes by Honest Abe Featured in Log Home Living and Log Cabin Homes for Christmas

Log and timber frame homes are beautiful in every season, but there’s something special about a wood home decorated for the holiday season. This year two homes decorated and ready for Christmas that were designed, manufactured and built by Honest Abe Log Homes are featured in Nationally distributed wood home publications. The Hedges home and the Cambridge model were designed by Honest Abe’s award-winning in-house designer Michael Hix. Both stories are by freelance writer Claudia Johnson with images by Brandon Malone Photography.
The Hedges home near Red Boiling Springs graces the cover of the December 2018 issue of Log Home Living. Homeowner Michelle Hedges explained how she used keepsake ornaments, fresh greenery, upcycled objects and inexpensive big-box store finds to create a magical and memorable Christmas experience for her grandchildren. In addition to an interview with Michelle, the six-page feature includes photos and a floor plan. To read the story and browse a gallery of the Hedges home Christmas photos, click the image above.
The story of how Charleston, S. C. Interior designer Lexie Nale transformed the Honest Abe Crossville Model Home built from the award-winning Cambridge Plan into a welcoming Christmas house is presented in an eight-page feature in Log Cabin Homes. Nale shared decorating tips and designer tricks specifically for wood homes in which lighting and room scale can present challenges. The Cambridge is headquarters for a Christmas Log Home tour set for Dec. 8. For photos of the decorated house, click the image above.
