With the season approaching its autumn glory, many people are heading to mountains for the turning leaves, cooler temperatures and prospect of a roaring fire in a cozy log cabin. While this is a temporary getaway for some, for others it’s a lifelong dream.

Honest Abe Log Homes has seen a lot of dreams come true over 40 years, and a lot of those have been in the form of a mountain log cabin.

The Smokies

Two completely custom homes in the Great Smoky Mountains were built after the 2016 fires that destroyed 2,460 structures and 17,136 acres of land around Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

Danny and Tia Suiter’s Smoky Mountain house was created as a reproduction of the original structure destroyed by the mountain fires as a retreat for their family, but they also offer it as a rental so others can enjoy views of America’s oldest mountains. Read more…
