The Bellewood is a Versatile, Popular Plan
The Bellewood floor plan, with 2,591 square feet on two floors, has become one of Honest Abe Log Homes’ most popular plans, and homeowners have found a variety of ways to customize the Bellewood plan to their location, lifestyle and family needs as seem in the five examples above. For stories about and galleries of each of these homes, click its photo.
Across the front is an elongated, half-hexagonal deck, which at each end flows into recessed porches. The two-story great room window situated between two dormers creates a striking façade.
Centrally located in the great room, the fireplace’s chimney extends from the first floor through the balustrade of the second-floor catwalk and on through the cathedral ceiling. Behind the great room is a foyer with a coat closet, half-bath and stairway to the second floor. The back door opens onto a full-length covered porch. Upstairs there are two equally proportioned bedrooms. The luxury bathroom has double sinks, a tub and a walk-in shower.
To the left of the great room is the master bedroom with a walk-in closet and full bath. To the great room’s right is the dining room area open to the kitchen with its large pantry, a laundry closet and an island. Both the master suite and the dining room overlook the small porches created by the shape of the deck. Some homeowners have chosen to install sliding doors for easy outdoor living. An enclosed breezeway connects the dining room to a family room with its own entrance.
On the first floor, the great room is bathed in light from the massive window.

Swiftwater Floor Plan
The Swiftwater Log Home Plan by Honest Abe Log Homes may be one of our smallest plans, but it features cathedral ceilings, an open concept dining and living space and a luxury bath with garden tub.
The 1,276 Swiftwater is the consummate plan for a young family, a retired couple or for a lakeside or mountain retreat. A grand hall with a fireplace and cathedral ceiling has kitchen, dining and living space in an open design.
On either side of the grand hall, there’s a bedroom with a luxury bath including a walk-in shower and garden tub. The living room and both bedrooms open onto a deck wide enough to accommodate dining and entertaining with room for a hot tub or fire pit.
The plan can be easily modified to suit a homeowner’s specific needs and can be executed in log, timber frame or a combination of materials. It would be ideal for creating a hybrid home using wood components from Honest Abe and Structural Insulated Panels from our sister company, Eco-Panels.
