Honest Abe Home Ideal for Abraham Lincoln Collector’s Daughter

It’s completely fitting that Roxanne McDade would choose Honest Abe Log Homes to design and manufacture her new log home. After all, she’s the daughter of the world’s foremost collector of Abraham Lincoln artifacts, who was also a celebrated Lincoln artist and biographer.

Roxanne chose the Honest Abe Westfield plan, which was customized for her five-acre property in rural Ohio. The home was finished in 2017, and Roxanne has decorated it with paintings by her famous father and incorporated antiques into the decor.

Dinner in a Dish

During 2020 we’re sharing some favorite recipes from Honest Abe’s owners, employees, dealers and customers. This month’s recipe is a hearty but easy one-dish dinner, which was included in the “Smith Family Traditions” book in a section of recipes honoring the cooking skills of Honest Abe’s owner,  Janie Smith.

The Ashlock Custom Plan

The 4-bedroom, 4,200-square-foot Ashlock log home plan by Honest Abe Log Homes, Inc. can be built using logs or a timber frame. 

Features include a great room, open concept kitchen, first-floor master bedroom suite, a loft and screened porch. The master bedroom has a full bath. There’s an additional downstairs bedroom that can also be outfitted as a home office. A half bath is located in the foyer. Two large upstairs bedrooms share a central fell bathroom.
