Though his hobby may be farming in his rural community around Moss, Tennessee, Joe Isenberg's passion is building log homes. He's been at it with Honest Abe Log Homes since 1982. During his tenure, he has even constructed his own Honest Abe cabin in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. Prior to working for Honest Abe, Joe was a bricklayer for ten years, giving him nearly forty years of experience in the building industry.
Ronnie Carter Ronnie Carter

Building Honest Abe Log Homes since: 1994

Ronnie has been building homes for over 23 years, and has come to love the construction process of a log home. Ronnie receives satisfaction from, "Just seeing the finished product and knowing you have done the best job possible." It's that same reward of satisfaction that makes restoring old hot-rod cars so appealing to Ronnie. "It doesn't matter if it is a antique vehicle or a new log home, I want to be proud of the work I've done."
Mike Strong Mike Strong

Building Honest Abe Log Homes since: 1994

Mike officially joined Honest Abe in 1994. However, his experience with the company started several years prior working as a carpenter for Joe Isenberg in the late 80's. He left to pursue his dream of operating his own conventional home building business in Indiana. Longing for Tennessee, Mike returned to continue his passion for building log homes. "I guess building log homes was just in my blood. Luckily, I was able to return to Honest Abe with my own crew and I've been happy ever since." When he's not spending time with his family, Mike enjoys keeping up with local high school sports and UT football.
Darrell Elliott Darrell Elliott

Building Honest Abe Log Homes since: 1996

Darrell says his favorite experience while building log homes is, "Seeing the satisfaction of the customer when I finish the job and they look at my work." He's been doing that for Honest Abe's customers for nearly fifteen years now, but packs 30 years of experience within the building industry. Prior to building with Honest Abe, Darrell built a variety of log homes by other companies, giving him comprehensive experience building log structures. In his free time, Darrell enjoys the outdoors and is an avid hunter.
Henry McKay Henry McKay

Building Honest Abe Log Homes since: 1996

The bumper sticker on Henry's truck reads, "I'd rather be riding my Harley," and when it comes to construction his philosophy is, "I'd rather be building a log home." It's the uniqueness of log homes that draw so many customers, and it's what pulled Henry away from a career in bridge building almost fifteen years ago. Since that time, he's been building Honest Abe Log Homes and says one of the biggest challenges is, "everything you do is seen, it has got to be precise and you have zero tolerance for error, everything is cosmetic."
Ricky Hatcher Ricky Hatcher

Building Honest Abe Log Homes since: 1994

Rick, a local resident who grew up only a few miles from Honest Abe's headquarters, will be the first to tell you what Honest Abe's customers mean to him. "I owe a lot to all the folks who have let me build their homes over the years. I've been able to make a decent living doing something I love and still live in the area I was raised." In his spare time, Rick enjoys hunting, working on his farm, and spending quality time with his family. Rick is also an accomplished mechanic and loves the challenge of refurbishing old vehicles.
