Housing Bill Opens Doors!
In July of this year, congress passed the 2008 Housing Bill, opening doors for thousands of people just like you. It may very well be the best opportunity for many to own a log, timber frame or rustic home.
What is the Tax Credit?
As a first time home owner, or if you have not owned a home within the last three years, you may qualify to receive a tax credit up to $7,500. While this government credit offer does not expire until June 30th of 2009, your new Honest Abe home must be completed and occupied by this date!
How Can I Save Even More?
This credit is similar to an interest free loan from the government. While it must be repaid within 15 years, huge savings are possible if the full credit amout is paid toward the principle of the mortgage. A 30-year, $200,000 loan at a 6.5% fixed rate, reduced by the payment of $7,500 could save the home owner $9,000 in interest alone!
For more details on the tax credit, visit the National Association of Home Builders resource site at: www.federalhousingtaxcredit.com.
Even More Savings from Honest Abe!
In addition to the tax credit, Honest Abe Log Homes has incentives when purchasing a log or timber framed home. Click here to locate a sales location for more information. |
